Check-in Rules

Information on the tourist fee in the Smyha settlement community

Who pays the tourist fee

The fee is paid by citizens of Ukraine, foreigners, and stateless persons who arrive in the territory of the Smyha territorial community, where the Smyha settlement council's decision establishing the tourist fee applies, and who are temporarily accommodated in places of residence (overnight stay) as defined by subparagraph 268.5.1 of paragraph 268.5 of the Tax Code of Ukraine.

Main grounds and documents for exemption from the tourist fee

Documentary proof of the exemption (mandatory). The hotel administrator or lessor is required to accept documents confirming your right to the exemption and to keep copies of them.

Who is exempt from paying:

  • Local residents — persons permanently residing (registered) in the locality where the fee is established
  • Tenants under a lease — persons living in a village, settlement, or town under a signed rental agreement
  • Business travelers — persons arriving on a business trip. Proof: travel order, business-trip certificate
  • People with disabilities, children with disabilities, and persons accompanying a person with a group I disability or a child with a disability (no more than one companion) — a document confirming the disability
  • War veterans — a combat participant certificate or other veteran certificate
  • Chornobyl NPP accident liquidators — a certificate confirming participation in the cleanup of the Chornobyl accident
  • Children under 18 — a birth certificate or the corresponding entry in a parent's passport

What to have with you to confirm the exemption: passport (to confirm permanent registration), certificate (combat veteran, disability, liquidator), business-trip documents (order/agreement), rental agreement (if you are a tenant).

Note: if you do not have documents confirming the exemption, the accommodation administrator is required to collect the tourist fee.

Fee rate

The fee rate is set for each day of temporary accommodation in places of residence (overnight stay) as defined by subparagraph 5.1 of paragraph 5 of the Smyha settlement council's Regulation on the tourist fee, at a rate of 0.25% for domestic tourism and 0.25% for inbound tourism of the minimum wage set by law as of January 1, 2026 (the tax year) (UAH 8,647 × 0.25% = UAH 21.62), per person per day of temporary accommodation, i.e. UAH 21.62.

Rooms and cottages

The complex offers cozy rooms in a modern style, in the Standard, Semi-Suite, and Suite categories. Barnhouse-style cottages in a Scandinavian style are also available.

14 rooms and 6 cottages:

  • 7 rooms in the "Standard" category, DBL/TWIN
  • 5 rooms in the "Semi-Suite" category, DBL/TWIN
  • 1 "one-room Suite" room, DBL + sofa
  • 1 "two-room Suite" room, DBL + sofa
  • 6 cottages of one or two floors, accommodating 2/4/6 guests

Bed sizes: single — 900×2000; double — 1600×2000 and 1800×2000.

The room rate includes

  • Wi-Fi in the rooms
  • Guarded parking on site
  • Complimentary mineral water
  • Cleaning, towel and bedding change on request or on the 3rd day (for stays of 3+ days)
  • Buffet breakfast, served 08:00–10:00

Taking food or drinks out of the breakfast area is not allowed.

Booking rules

  • A guaranteed room booking requires either full prepayment for the stay in the chosen room, or a 50% advance payment of the stay cost for the booked period, made within 24 hours of making the booking
  • If a room is booked less than 24 hours before check-in, the advance payment must be transferred within one hour of the call with the hotel administrator. A copy of the payment confirmation can be sent to complete the booking
  • 100% of the funds paid are refunded if the booking is cancelled no later than 3 days before check-in
  • If the booking is cancelled less than 24 hours before check-in, an amount equal to the cost of one day's stay in the room is withheld (except for unforeseeable circumstances confirmed by documents)

Guest stay hours: check-in from 14:00 on the arrival day; check-out until 12:00 on the departure day.

House rules for the Golden Lion hotel rooms and cottages

  • The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Feedback and suggestions about the hotel's operation can be left with the hotel administrator
  • A room is issued to a guest upon presentation of a passport or other identity document and a completed check-in form

Documents that prove identity:

  • a citizen of Ukraine's passport, or an international passport of a citizen of Ukraine
  • a diplomatic or official passport
  • a residence permit for a person living in Ukraine who is not a citizen of Ukraine
  • a foreign national's passport or an equivalent document, together with a visa for the right to stay in Ukraine (unless otherwise provided by bilateral agreements in force)
  • a birth certificate for minors under 16
  • a driver's license
  • for military personnel — a personal ID or military ID
  • a guest on a business trip provides documents confirming the trip

For the safety of our guests, video surveillance operates on the premises and in common areas, with the exception of restrooms, changing rooms, and hotel rooms.

Children and extra beds

  • Children aged 1–5 stay free of charge with their parents (relatives), without an extra bed; breakfast is included
  • An extra bed for children aged 6–11 is available for an additional UAH 1,200/night
  • The extra-bed price includes breakfast, SPA access, and a complimentary towel and slippers
  • Children over 12 are considered adults
  • Extra bed price for adults — UAH 2,000/night

House rules for guests with pets

  • Only small and toy-breed dogs up to 12 kg and around 15–30 cm at the withers are recognized as pets at the hotel
  • The hotel reserves the right to decide whether a pet may stay in a given room
  • Staying at the hotel with fighting-breed dogs is forbidden
  • Guests must bring their own dishes to feed their pets
  • An additional fee of UAH 400/night is charged for staying with a pet, payable for the full length of stay at check-in
  • Pets are not allowed in the restaurant, bar, pool, or other common areas
  • Walking pets on the hotel grounds is forbidden
  • Feeding pets from the hotel's own dishes is strictly forbidden
  • Without a proper carrier, leaving a pet unattended in the hotel room or in the hotel's common lobby is forbidden
  • Washing pets in the room's shower cabin, or using the hotel's towels, sheets, or other bedding for them is forbidden
  • Grooming pets in the hotel room or lobby is forbidden
  • Letting a pet move freely without a leash in common areas — the hotel's lobbies and corridors — is forbidden

The hotel reserves the right to terminate the agreement with a guest staying with a pet in case of a breach of the house rules or aggressive, inappropriate, or noisy behavior by the pet.

Payment methods

  • Payment is made at the time of booking online, or at check-in in cash or by VISA/Mastercard bank card, accounting for any advance payment already made
  • Bank transfer is also possible

Prohibited

  • Smoking tobacco products, e-cigarettes, hookahs, and using narcotic substances in rooms, cottages, or hotel premises. Smoking in prohibited areas or violating fire safety rules carries a fine of UAH 1,000
  • Bringing into or keeping at the hotel substances, materials, or objects dangerous to human life: explosive, flammable, strong-smelling toxic substances, sharp or piercing objects, any kind of firearms, gas, or edged weapons, and other items that may be dangerous to Golden Lion's guests or staff
  • Disturbing other guests' peace between 22:00 and 8:00 — quiet must be observed on the grounds during this time, per Art. 24 of the Law on Ensuring Sanitary and Epidemic Welfare of the Population
  • The presence on the grounds, in rooms, or in cottages of guests who have not paid for their stay. Guest visits are only possible with the hotel administrator's agreement and upon presentation of an identity document
  • Bringing or using pyrotechnics, sparklers, cold fountains, party poppers, or other flammable items in hotel rooms is strictly forbidden

Management reserves the right to refuse service and to suspend the stay of guests on the complex's grounds who do not comply with these rules, including those staying in a room without payment, creating unacceptable conditions for other guests' rest, or violating public order or the laws of Ukraine — without any refund or other compensation for unused services.

We offer a room service. The service fee is 10% of the total bill.

Gift certificate holders

  • To use a gift certificate, book in advance by phone with the hotel administrator and choose the service you would like to use
  • On the day you use the certificate, come to the hotel reception
  • Hand over the certificate when paying for the service received
  • If you choose several services at once, the hotel administrator exchanges the certificate for a credit note in the amount stated on the certificate, which you can use to pay for the services received. The used credit note must be returned to the hotel administrator
  • The gift certificate is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash
  • If an order is for a smaller amount than the certificate's value, the difference is not refunded
  • If an order is for a larger amount than the certificate's value, the difference must be paid
  • A lost certificate cannot be reissued
  • The certificate can be used only once
  • The certificate is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase
